Design elements for Our Lady of the Valley were inspired by the surrounding Blue Ridge Mountains. MA Senior Living Design incorporated the outside beauty into this welcoming, nature-inspired design with touches of timeless lines.

Community improvements were prompted by the changing market in the area (including a local need for memory care and increasing requests for private rehabilitation rooms). The addition of an on-site Chapel (complete with one-of-a-kind stained-glass windows) and a theater room fulfilled two long-time wish list items of the community’s active population.

Upon entering the Skilled Rehab addition, you are greeted by a shimmery stone fireplace that opens into a Bistro featuring floor-to-ceiling windows. The space is accented by natural elements that create a sense of tranquility and peace for gatherings. The FF&E package throughout the addition was inspired by the warmth and scenic beauty of the Roanoke Valley.

The memory care addition is designed with bright, fresh colors and loads of natural light for residents to enjoy. Art was selected by a local artist who highlighted community landmarks with vibrant colors to complement the design.

Size: 20,000 square feet

“Our rehab patients enjoy recovering in private, newly updated rooms. It gives them extra privacy when hosting visitors or when they want to do therapy in their own room. Plus, they love the atmosphere and home-like environment.”

— Kayla Meador, Director of Marketing & Admissions for Rehab & Nursing, Our Lady of the Valley
