Senior Accountant- Leadership Track to Assistant VP of Finance

Coordinated Services Management (CSM), a mission-driven senior living management organization based in Roanoke, Virginia, is seeking a Senior Accountant who is ready to grow into a leadership role.

Unlike larger corporate environments, this role offers direct exposure to executive leadership, meaningful involvement in financial strategy, and a clear path for advancement.

Role Overview:

The Senior Accountant plays a key role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organization. This position offers increasing responsibility, leadership development, and the opportunity to contribute to strategic decision-making.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and deliver timely, accurate financial statements and reports.
  • Oversee general ledger activities and ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends and variances, and provide actionable insights to management.
  • Support and contribute to the development and presentation of financial reports to Boards of Directors and senior leadership.
  • Coordinate audit preparation and presentation and serve as primary contact for external auditors.
  • Lead or support and oversee the annual budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Strengthen internal controls and collaborate across departments to improve financial processes.
  • Manage cash flow and oversee treasury functions including forecasting cash needs and maintaining accurate cash positions.
  • Prepare annual filings and regulatory reports.
  • Take on increasing leadership responsibilities, including supervision of accounts payable functions.
  • Identify opportunities to optimize financial systems and processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and reporting capabilities.
  • Support the development and training of accounting staff, with increasing responsibility for mentoring and team oversight.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required.
  • CPA or MBA preferred (required for advancement to Assistant VP Finance).
  • 4-5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Senior living or healthcare accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Advanced Excel and proficiency in accounting systems.
  • Experience in Sage Intacct, Point Click Care, and One-Site software a plus. preferred.

Overview
St. Mary's Woods, a reputable senior living community, is seeking an experienced and compassionate Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team. The DON plays a key role in ensuring a high standard of care for all residents by overseeing nursing operations, supporting staff, and maintaining compliance with state and local regulations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to quality resident care. Candidates licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) are welcome to apply.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the nursing team and Registered Medication Aides
• Maintain 24/7 on-call availability for clinical support
• Review and oversee staff scheduling
• Ensure proper documentation and accurate resident care records
• Comply with company policies and state/federal regulations
• Conduct assessments
• Complete Care Plans and participate in care plan meetings
• Participate in staff training and development
• Provide or delegate hands-on care as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned by leadership

 

Qualifications

• Valid RN license
• Current CPR certification
• Experience in nursing management/supervision, direct care, and scheduling
• Prior experience in senior care is preferred

Director of Admissions

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve and maintain maximum occupancy by implementing effective marketing, sales, admissions, and outreach strategies.
  • Oversee all inquiry processes, including phone and website leads, ensuring timely follow-up.
  • Conduct engaging tours and, when necessary, home visits for prospective residents and their families.
  • Manage the resident application and admissions process in compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Coordinate communication with department managers and families regarding admissions, move-ins, care level changes, transfers, and move-outs, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Ensure the community is always tour-ready, including model and vacant apartments, and support staff in providing exceptional customer service.
  • Develop and oversee a comprehensive resident and family orientation program to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Maintain accurate records for leads, referrals, and marketing activities within the database; prepare regular occupancy and marketing reports for the Home Office.
  • Participate in the Manager-on-Duty rotation with other department leaders.
  • Attend required in-service training and continuing education programs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in sales or admissions with a proven record of achieving results (senior living or healthcare experience preferred).
  • Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with residents, families, staff, and external partners.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, Medicare, Medicaid, and private or long-term care insurance preferred.
